I watched my mayorships go down one by one in Seattle, and I could live with that. Losing that one at the Panda Express in Rancho Mirage was a heart breaker though–it was hard earned by all my trips from Seattle to Phoenix.  Screw you, Fred M.!

I’m studying for the bar exam again. Since it’s getting a little boring, I think I’m going to try to add a small business angle to it. This might be useful for a book for small business someday.

A lender is seeking to foreclose on the Viad Corporate Center, a high-rise office tower on Central Avenue in Phoenix, the latest example of the region’s commercial real-estate woes. Bank of America has asked a Maricopa County Superior Court judge to appoint a receiver for the signature tower at 1850 N. Central Ave. The lender said the building’s owner has not kept current since December on a $65 million loan.

Maybe the foregoing weather accounts for my recent and new found obsession with palm trees.

I have to (somehow) remind myself that, even though the bar is just over a week away, I’m basically committed to this weather for life.

I’ve been hanging out on the Arizona State campus for the past few days, studying for the bar exam.  Mostly I hang out in the law school, but I head over to the union for lunch now and then, the same union where the 18-20 year old set hangs out, a set not noted for its genuine confidence.

Now that I’m in my thirties, I understand what he means.  It takes time and experience to get comfortable in your own skin.
